The M48 Patton was developed and produced by Chrysler and was a part of the Patton series of tanks. The M48 was armed with a 90mm main gun and had a secondary armament of a .50 caliber machine gun and a .30 caliber machine gun. It had a maximum armor thickness of 101mm on the front of the hull, and 76mm on the turret. It was powered by a Continental AVDS-1790-2 diesel engine, which provided a maximum road speed of 48 km/h (30 mph).
