The M4A2 Sherman was used by the US Marines in WW2, and was the primary lend lease AFV provided to Allie’s. It was powered by a diesel engine, which gave it some advantages over other variants that used gasoline engines, such as being less likely to catch fire. It was armed with a 75mm main gun and two .30 caliber machine guns.

Engineers created improvised wading snorkels from 55 gallon drums to allow the tanks to work in shallow water conditions.
